New Shunt Reactors at Beddington 400/275/132 kV substation
To the right you will see installed equipment at the New Mechanical Switching Compound. The 275 kV Capacitor Bank is 10m high with the 4.5m high 275 kV reactor located to the front. Special design considerations needed to be applied, with epoxy coated reinforcement design a necessity in certain areas. Overall the structures are located on independant foundations with a specialist fibre mesh slab providing a surrounding hardstanding.
To the left you will see the Noise Enclosure structure housing one of the new Shunt Reactors. The Shunt Reactor structure incorporates a perimeter bund with an underground fire protected oil storage tank. The scheme also includes numerous ancillary items all located on independant foundations.
